Erindale United Church in Mississauga, Ontario will be taking delivery of a new organ in early 2015. The Allen Bravura™ organ is a beautifully designed, well crafted three-manual, 58 stop oak console. It will have many unique features customised to suit the musical and acoustical needs of the church and will be the first installation of its kind in Ontario. Along with previous “firsts” the Erindale edition will be the latest in a long and impressive series of quality Glionna Mansell - Allen organ installations.

Allen organs include 7 cohesive tonal suites easily accessed from an on-board library. This is comparable to having the tonal character of seven different organs within one console. From Baroque and neo-Baroque (Arp Schnitger and Schlicker), English Cathedral and French (Cavaillé-Coll) to American Classic, the organist has unprecedented creative flexibility in accessing a complete palette of tonal colours and pipe-organ sound. The organ will have an additional Ancillary division that will provide both supportive sound inside the transepts and nave of the church while offering the full resources of the organ and its audio system to the Praise Band, located in one of the transepts. Using a “slave” keyboard, the organ may be played remotely from the Band location. Additionally, the church musician has access to an industry leading touch-screen MIDI, the only one specifically designed for organists. The user-friendly Allen VISTA Navigator™ will provide all the universal MIDI sounds plus a further 150 Allen pipe-organ sounds, all of which are customizable. This level of detail and artistic flexibility means that well over 500 years of organ repertoire can be credibly represented and performed on this instrument. All this is a pleasant reality while the organ can also serve as “Command Central” for any Praise Band musical performance. This organ features BlueTooth™ technology in its thumb piston and toe stud page turner. Wirelessly connected to a tablet, the organist will not need to carry paper scores and bags of music to each service. Repertoire can be stored on a memory stick or in the “Cloud” and accessed through tablet/computer hybrid such as a Levono YOGA™. The wirelessly enabled page turner will “turn” the pages as required. With its 18 speaker cabinets supporting MAIN organ, an Antiphonal, an Ancillary division and the acoustic enhancement Reflection™ technology, the Erindale community will enjoy exceptional clarity of every musical nuance and tonal colour the organist wishes to express.
